who we are

Vauxhall One is the Business Improvement District (BID) for Vauxhall. We work closely with partners at Lambeth Council, TfL, Network Rail and the Metropolitan Police to tackle key challenges for businesses, promote Vauxhall as a destination and improve the area for visitors and locals.

Strategic direction is provided via a volunteer Board of Directors from the local business community. The identified initiatives are delivered by a team of placemaking specialists based at The Coade on Vauxhall Walk.

What we do

Vauxhall One focuses on delivering projects against five priorities: Cleaner Vauxhall, Greener Vauxhall, Safer Vauxhall, Better Vauxhall, and Destination Vauxhall.

Better Vauxhall

We want to ensure that local residents benefit from the growth and opportunities of Vauxhall’s transformation. We do this by bringing community organisations and hyperlocal charities together with businesses, encouraging collaboration and supporting causes that celebrate the area’s rich and diverse culture.

Cleaner Vauxhall

A well-maintained, clean and tidy public realm is a strong reflection of the surrounding business community. With 34 million people moving through the area each year, we place great importance on daily street cleaning, graffiti removal and litter picking to ensure an attractive and pleasant setting.

Destination Vauxhall

Playing on the area’s history, the award-winning Vauxhall, London place brand champions Vauxhall’s unique spirit. You’ll spot it in physical place marketing such as the mural on New Spring Gardens Walk and the railway bridge next to Vauxhall station, on our lifestyle website and social channels, and in our extensive annual events programme.

Greener Vauxhall

Greening is at the heart of our ambition to tackle climate change and create a sustainable urban setting for people to enjoy. We have delivered several strategic greening projects since the BID was formed, enriching Vauxhall’s sense of place, making the area more attractive for pedestrians and cyclists, improving air quality and enhancing biodiversity.

Safer Vauxhall

Since the BID’s inception, safety has been consistently named as a top priority by member businesses. Significant steps were made in our first two terms, with BID-funded additional policing resulting in a 15% reduction in crime. This work has given way to intelligence-led interventions, including the implementation of CCTV cameras and a team of Security Officers based at the transport hub.
